MRU adopts higher tuition costs

It looks like business, nursing and science students will have to dish out an extra $50 a course at Mount Royal University next year.

The cost will only affect the new crop of students who would be starting in 2015 and beyond.

According to MRU staff, the board of governors voted Tuesday to adopt the tuition hike, which the provincial government approved earlier this year.

Consultations were held with students along the way to the decision. Many have been vocally opposed, even joining a larger student protest at the legislature in Edmonton last fall.
