Three seriously burned in Elkford mine explosion

A 53-year-old man has been flown to Calgary’s Foothills Hospital after an explosion at a mine seriously injured two men and a woman near Elkford, BC.

The blast happened just on the other side of the provincial border, southwest of Calgary, at the Teck Greenhills facility.

BC Ambulance tells 660news, the three patients were initially taken to area hospitals with second and third degree burns.

STARS Air Ambulance confirmed the man flown to Calgary has serious, non-life threatening burn injuries.
