Season for sneezin’ ramping up

A Calgary specialist is warning: it’s allergy season.
Dr. Joel Doctor says if you have itchy eyes and a runny nose it’s likely because of hay fever, and it’s only going to get worse.
“Most hay fever is actually caused by grasses,” Doctor said. “So they (sufferers) usually have the most difficulty during the June/July period and it tends to be worst during the early part of July, around Stampede time.”
The doctor, who has allergies himself, thinks allergy season may be stronger this year because it’s been relatively dry and warm.
He said the severity of symptoms will likely be determined by weather conditions over the next six weeks or so.
