Business confidence sliding in Alberta

Business confidence is the latest victim of continued low oil prices in Alberta.

According to BMO, the province has the lowest confidence in the country right now: sitting at a score of 45, down 25 points from the spring of 2014.

Albertans aren’t too hopeful things will turn around this year either.

The poll shows only one-in-three Alberta small business owners believe 2015 will be better for business than last year, while just 19 per cent expect the economy to improve over the next eight months.

Albertans also scored lowest in the country in plans to grow and invest in their businesses this year.
