Albertans just wanted the PCs out: Survey

The dissection of what happened in the provincial election continues.

Abacus Data is out with a new survey to get a sense of why Albertans think the orange crush swept in.

David Coletto with Abacus thinks the results clearly demonstrate what people across the province believe it was all about.

“Nine out of ten said that the election was about change, and wasn’t so much about them liking the NDP,” Coletto told 660News.

“In some respects, the fact that Danielle Smith and that group of Wildrose supporters crossed the floor and joined the PCs, for some voters might have suggested the Wildrose was maybe no different, and so it really gave the New Democrats a chance to stand out, be different.”

An overwhelming 91 per cent said the result had nothing to do with preferring a woman as premier.

Forty-four percent said the result of the vote was about the budget.
