Nho Saigon

By

Where: 2111 33 Ave SW, 403-246-1388, no website (check Urbanspoon or Yelp for images of menu)

What: A Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Marda Loop. In terms of its interior and atmosphere, it’s pretty standard, but it’s some of the menu offerings here that make them one of the best spots for this type of cuisine in Calgary’s Southwest.

Price point: Reasonable. Soups average around $8.50 and starters $5-$6, prices which are actually a little on the cheaper side, especially if you’re eating pho downtown.

Pro: Two things. If you love a good peanut sate soup, Nho has got you covered. Theirs is extra peanut-y and rich. To start, skip the standard salad rolls and try the jicama rolls that are filled with egg, chinese sausage and shredded jicama.

Con: The noodle bowls aren’t really life changing, but aside from that, this is a must-try for any self-proclaimed Vietnamese connoisseur.
