The man accused in a deadly gas and dash will be back in court June 30, when a bail hearing may take place.
Maryam Rashidi died last Tuesday in hospital after she was run over by a truck she believed had failed to pay for gas.
Joshua Cody Mitchell, 20, is facing several charges including criminal negligence causing death.
Mitchell still needs a lawyer, and Crown Prosecutor Lloyd Robertson says more charges could be laid between now and then.
“So the initial police investigation is in our hands, but it’s a case there’s going to be a lot of disclosure on, there’s still more to come. If further charges are warranted after review of that disclosure then yes, the crown will take the step of laying additional charges,” he said.
He adds the crown is opposed to Mitchell’s release, calling this incident a serious matter that shocked the city.
