Tornado touches down northeast of Langdon

There were some anxious moments east of the city on Wednesday afternoon after the province issued a tornado alert for several areas.

A number of callers to 660News say they spotted a twister touching down northeast of Langdon near the Hamlet of Dalroy.

660’s Ian Campbell was in the area and spoke to Gail and Russell who were on their porch watching the clouds come in when they noticed rotation.

They said it didn’t take long for a funnel to form and hit the ground, lasting for roughly 10-15 seconds.

The couple also showed off the large hail that thundered over parts of their tin roof.

‘We could see it moving across the field and see the hail coming…it was pretty scary.’

While the twister was at least half a mile away they say it was far too close for comfort.

There have been no reports of any serious injuries or major damage.
