The Calgary Fire Department remains on scene dousing hot spots after a large barn fire in the city’s northeast.
Crews were called in around 9 p.m. Monday to a farm yard off Country Hills Blvd and Deerfoot Trail and found the barn fully engulfed.
Batallion Chief John Cherweniuk says the fire has been extinguished but the barn is a total loss.
A smaller building, adjacent to the barn, was also severely damaged.
Cherweniuk tells 660 NEWS, there’s no word yet on whether anyone including animals were in the barn at the time of the blaze.
Investigators are also on scene looking for a cause.
