Canadians in need of a vacation: study

When’s the last time you took a week off?

A new survey shows a lot of Canadians are vacation deprived.

According to the poll, from Expedia.ca, since 2003, Canadians have missed out on a total of 350-million vacation days.

“We’re leaving those days on the table, because we may feel like we’re guilty — you know, if we take off from work we’re leaving other people at work to pick up or to take over, or they may just have trouble connecting with their families and planning that with such busy schedules. Sometimes it’s hard to get away,” Stress Expert Beverly Beuermann-King said.

Beuermann-King says when we do get away we continue to stay too connected with our smartphones.

More than 52 per cent of Canadians say they’re vacation deprived, which is four per cent more than last year.
