Immigrant fair helps newcomers put down roots

New arrivals to Canada and Calgary have a chance to better understand their new surroundings Thursday.
It’s thanks to Canadian Immigrant Magazine, and their Career, Education and Settlement Fair.
Margaret Jetelina, editor of the magazine, says there’s plenty going on.
“We have many exhibitors from the immigrant settlement world, as well as educational institutes, as well as many employers who are looking to hire right now. So, it’s a really great event for newcomers to come who are looking for work, who are looking for information on settling in Calgary,” she said.
The fair runs in the south building of the Telus Convention Centre from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to attend.
