TransCanada announces more job cuts

A new round of job cuts this week at a downtown pipeline company.

TransCanada is cutting about 30 director-level positions, which represents about 20 per cent of the positions at that level.

The move follows other senior level cuts in September when they slashed about 20 per cent of spots at the vice-president level and above.

Director of Communications James Millar said falling oil prices and the current environment are having a profound impact on their customers and they need to do everything they can to drive down costs and increase efficiencies.
