A new park was unveiled in Airdrie on Saturday, and it’s dedicated to a long-residing family.
The Osbornes originally came to the community in 1942 and recently sold their land to Mattamy Homes. The company decided to dedicated the park to the family.
“The park is about two and a quarter acres sized. It’s in the heart of the community, it has a large playground facility, a toboggan hill, a puddle rink, a public plaza with picnic tables and seating areas, shaded trellis structures, and it’s beautifully landscaped,” Joe Case, a land developer for Mattamy Homes, said.
The park is located at the corner of Windford Drive and Windsong Blvd in Airdrie’s new community of Southwinds.
Alongside Mattamy Homes representatives, Airdrie mayor Peter Brown and community members held a dedication ceremony, which was followed by a short family festival.
