Where: 1131 Kensington Road NW, 403-457-1144, winebarkensington.com
What: A lower-level wine bar in Kensington, just off of 10 A Street NW. The space has subdued lighting and a big open kitchen making it a cozy place to spend a night in now that it’s getting cooler out.
Price point: Moderate. On par in terms of comparable wine-focused spots in the city.
Pro: The menu is creative and fun with an emphasis on sharing, making it an awesome place for a romantic date. Order the duck-fat fried chips with dill dip, they’re highly addictive and easy to eat while chatting with your date.
Con: Only open after 4 p.m. during the fall and winter, so lunching here is out of the question!
