It’s the season of giving, and the Toy Angels campaign wants to do just that.
A launch party is taking place at IKEA Friday morning in Deerfoot Meadows until 10 a.m.
The initiative, by 660 NEWS’ sister station KiSS 95.9, collects toys for the Salvation Army, who then passes them on to kids who may not otherwise have a gift this Christmas.
Pam Goodyear is with the organization and anticipates demand to be even higher the 7,000 children they helped last year.
“Mom and Dad are having a hard time putting food on the table, the last thing they can think about is getting a toy or a gift at Christmastime, and yet, how vital it is for the kids to have something. No one wants to think about a child waking up Christmas morning and there’s no toys under the tree,” she said.
If you miss KiSS live on location, you can drop off a donation at any of the locations across the city, listed here.
You can also visit KiSS at IKEA on November 27 and December 13 from 5:30 to 10 a.m. to show your generosity.
