Rent continues to fall in Calgary

A rental real estate website says monthly rates in Calgary have fallen considerably in the past year.

Employees with Rentfaster.ca took a look at postings from November 2014 and compared them to postings last month.

They found listings are way up, while rates are down significantly.

Rentals of homes, which include full houses, main floors, or basements dropped more than $200 to $1,808 per month with 1,300 more listings on the site.

Condo rents were down more than $350 to $1,796 on average, while apartments also dropped in price from $1,478 to $1,322.

Listings were also way up in both categories with 700 more condos, and 400 more apartments compared to the same month a year ago.
