No shortage of demand for seasonal workers this holiday season

With the way the economy has gone this year, there are more people looking for work, and the holiday season may be a good time to start.
Koula Vasilopolous, district president for Robert Half Canada, a consulting firm, told 660 NEWS, demand for seasonal workers may be down from previous years, but it is still high.
“Seasonal jobs historically are in transportation, logistics and retail, and in terms of what’s happening in the marketplace, I think you’re going to continue to see a demand for those types of roles, especially over the holiday period,” Vasilopolous said.
She added, companies are still looking to hire seasonal workers, as is usual for this time of year.
“Demand rises in all of those different industries,” Vasilopolous said. “They see increased demand for their services, thus they need increased staff levels to help them through that period.”
Vasilopolous said, the oil and gas industry may be down, but other sectors are thriving and still hiring, so people should check job websites to see who is looking for employees.
She said this is a great time for those looking for work to consider contract , specific project work, or short-term employment.
