Morning assault sends one to hospital

One man is recovering in hospital following an apparent assault, early Monday morning.
Detective Martin Taylor says police were called to 11th Ave and 1st street southeast just before 2:30 a.m.
“The male was found unconscious, bleeding from the head in the middle of the street. He has been transported to hospital in serious but stable condition,” said Taylor.
Taylor says it’s believed an altercation took place, though it’s not known what led up to the fight or if the assailant knew the victim.
One person of interest is in custody, but no charges have been laid.
