Downtown CTrain disrupted after gas line ruptured

Shuttle buses have been cancelled, but were in place after a collision Tuesday between a city bus and a car.
CTrain service needed to be halted for a little more than an hour as emergency crews responded to the area of Seventh Ave and First Street SW.
No one was seriously hurt in the incident, but the crash caused a gas line to rupture.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Fire spokesperson Carol Henke told 660 NEWS that crews responding to the scene needed to have a one-block radius blocked off.
“Buildings in the immediate vicinity, people were asked to shelter in place, so basically to stay in their buildings,” Henke said. “Then, we monitored the air. ATCO gas arrived on scene and with fire crews, worked to shut off the gas valve.”
