OTTAWA – Controversial U.S.-based blogger and self-proclaimed “pick-up artist” Roosh V is organizing an “International Meetup Day” for this coming Saturday in dozens of cities around the world, including Ottawa.
He and his online community, Return of Kings, are calling out all “heterosexual” men to pick a spot and hold a “tribal meeting.”
Here in Ottawa that meeting is planned for the Arts Court.
The organization is unabashedly sexist and homophobic, while its leader advocates rape to be legal inside a private home.
On his personal website, Roosh V urges participants to the event to record any “crazy feminists” who try to crash the party on video and send the footage to him “so we can tear them up”.
Mayor Jim Watson took to Twitter Tuesday morning to express his thought on the so-called meeting.

The mayor has directed staff to deny the group access to city facilities and is working to encourage businesses not rent space to ‘Return of Kings.’
