Puzzling flash in Calgary sky remains a mystery

Did you notice a flash in the sky over Calgary Wednesday morning?
A lot of people did and called the 660 NEWS newsroom just after 8:00 a.m. to describe what looked like a fast moving fireball, north of the downtown core.
660 NEWS program director Kelly Kirch noticed the unusual sight on his drive to work.
“I see a giant fireball,” he said. “It looked like it was far off in the distance, I wasn’t sure if it was a shooting star or a meteor, but it certainly was shocking and obviosuly a lot of people saw it.”
“You don’t see that every day, it was very interesting.”
There’s no word yet what it might have been, but we’ve asked astronomers to try to get to the bottom of the mystery, with no response at the time of publish.
