Calgary breaks 90-year-old weather record

By hitting 14.8 C Tuesday afternoon, our city has broken the 14.4 C record, which was set on this day in 1926.
To celebrate the February heatwave, Calgarians flocked to patios in the downtown core. The Ship & Anchor on 17th Avenue was packed, with people basking in the sunshine’s glow.
“It feels like summer,” duo Cassie and Mandy told 660 NEWS. “We just finished eating and we’re going to have a few more drinks in the sun.”
“We’re hear to enjoy the 14 degree weather,” Sean said. “We’re having some beers on the patio. It’s been amazing. In February, you always expect snow. To see a full patio is insane.”
“Luckily enough, my friend got here on time to get the last table available on the patio,” Nicole explained, as she enjoyed nachos and a brew. “It’s a great day!”
You can expect the warm temperatures to continue both Wednesday and Thursday, which respective highs of 7 C and 11 C.
