Shoeboxes giving kids tools to be creative

A health facility in Calgary wants to bring art to kids in need.

The Sheldon M. Chumir Centre has launched its inaugural Give Back campaign, collecting art supplies with the aim to foster creativity, growth, learning and development.

They’re asking Calgarians to fill shoeboxes with art supplies worth at least $12.

The goal is to collect 2,000 shoeboxes which will then be distributed to a number of organizations which work with underprivileged children.

You can drop off a donation at the Sheldon Chumir Centre between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday until March 31.
