WINS appealing for donations

The Women in Need Society is in need of some help from Calgarians.
They are hoping for donations of furniture, microwaves, pots and pans, dishes, and clothing for children ages 7 to 14.
Executive Director Laura Dickson tells 660 NEWS, the current situation has been difficult for women and their families.
“Taking public transportation and the cost of public transportation, I often see some of our clients waiting around in the store for when our trucks are coming back after picking up items in the community just waiting and hoping that things are going to come in that they need,” she said.
Dickson says they accept donations at all four of their thrift stores and their trucks can pick up large items free of charge.
