Transit users dealt with delays Sunday morning because of damage to a switch mechanism near City Hall.
Police said that vehicle became stuck on the tracks at 3rd Street and 7th Avenue around 4:15 A.M. and apparently caused damage to the switches.
Transit officials had to operated switches manually; as a result, there were long delays on both the 201 Red Line and 202 Blue Line.
Police alleged the driver was impaired; no word yet if charges have been laid.
