If you’re going to enjoy some green beer on St. Patrick’s Day, Calgary Police are hoping you’ll leave the car at home.
Sgt. Richard Butler is the Alcohol and Drug Recognition Unit Supervisor.
He tells 660 NEWS, anyone heading out for some drinks should plan ahead.
“Certainly people can be feeling the effects of an alcoholic beverage after one drink, it’s not typically something that would impair a person totally from operating a motor vehicle, but certainly something that is to be done with extreme caution because one drink can impair,” Butler said.
Butler warns even if the breathalyzer shows you aren’t over the legal limit of .08 you could still be charged with impaired driving.
