Man arrested after armed robbery

Calgary police arrested a man Thursday morning, following an armed robbery in the northeast.

It happened at a Mac’s convenience store in the 1400 block of 52 Street around 12:30 a.m.

Police say the man walked into the store, showed the clerk a gun and demanded cigarettes.

He was tracked to a nearby home on Marcombe Drive where he was talked out after a couple of hours and arrested.

Charges are pending, and nobody was hurt.
