Work is getting underway to revitalize and spruce up the popular Kensington area.
The city plans to replace what they call aging infrastructure between 10 Street N.W. between Memorial Drive and 5 Avenue and Kensington Road between 10 Street and 14 Street.
There will be new sidewalks, streetlights, trees and street furniture.
As well, new LED streetlights and pedestrian lights will be installed to make it safer for walkers.
In addition, workers will replace broken interlocking paving stones with concrete sidewalks to eliminate trip hazards.
You’ll also see new bike racks and benches.
