Calgarians will have an opportunity this weekend to get rid of some of the old electronics lying around the house.
Recycle Logic is holding a spring cleaning recycling event and will be accepting stuff like computers, monitors, TVs, printers, and laptops.
Director of Operations Laurie Parsons says it’s a free service and all electronics collected are taken to their plant in Red Deer.
“Everything is manually dismantled, we use very little energy in our process, we use hand tools, and it gets separated into different streams of commodities and the commodities get remarked or sent for further processing to an approved downstream processor,” she said.
The recycle event is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Market on Macleod.
People are also encouraged to bring along a non-perishable food item for the Calgary Food Bank.
