There’s a chance to see and hear a unique piece of history. The Bomber Command Museum in Nanton is firing up some very rare, and very loud, aircraft Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“We are having our season kickoff this weekend, starring our Lancaster Bomber, all four engines starting up and running,” says VP of the Bomber Command Museum Dan Fox who adds, there are only four Lancasters in the world that still have all 4 engines operating. He says they’ve also got some other rare aircraft ready to rumble.
“The Bristol Hercules (…) that was used on British bombers like the Halifax, and we might even have our little biplanes starting which has to be hand propped, the Fleet Fawn,” says Fox.
The event is free, but open to donations.
