Fiesta serves up tacos for a good cause

Let the fiesta begin!

Friday marks the start of the first ever YYC Taco Fiesta, a six-day festival in support of the Calgary Food Bank, Calgary Homeless Foundation and Kids Up Front.

Committee member Cory Chapdelaine says more than 30 restaurants are bringing tacos to the menu with 15 per cent of sales going towards charities.

“Chimmi’s Fresh Grill, which is I believe one of the food trucks out in the Okotoks area, they’re doing a crispy tilapia. That one sounds good, a nice little fish taco, that one I’m definitely going to try,” said Chapdelaine.

Each taco ranges from $4 – $6. The fiesta ends Thursday, on Cinco De Mayo, with a big bash at a location that’s yet to be announced.
