Calling all nerds; you don’t have to wait until Edmonton’s comic expo in September to use the force or battle a zombie.
Celebrities in horror, action and comedy are headed to Red Deer next month.
“Red Deer’s never had anything like this before and we’re expecting over 10,000 guests,” Spokesperson Steven Schelling said.
He says the first ever Red Deer Comic and Entertainment Expo is a small town event, expecting some big town talent.
“We have Chloe Bennet, who you might know from Agents of Shield; Taryn Manning from Orange is the New Black. She plays Pennsatucky on the show,” Schelling said.
There’s also something for the horror aficionados.
“Kane Hodder, who is well known as having played Jason Voorhees in several of the Friday the 13th movies,” Schelling teased.
Michael Berryman, who played Pluto in the 1977 flick, The Hills Have Eyes, is also making an appearance.
There are still some top secret guests yet to be announced.
The Expo runs June 11 and 12 at Westerner Park in Red Deer.
A two day pass costs $29, if you buy online.
