The Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary will get some support from a new Twitter fundraising campaign.
Send a tweet before June 24 using #GreatGiving and Walmart will donate $1 to the Children’s Miracle Network.
The charity’s Chief Development Officer Adam Starkman says last year, the network contributed $55-million to 14 hospitals in Canada.
“That is really vital funding for those hospitals in each and every one of the communities, because they have the ability to direct those dollars to the highest priority needs in their institutions and they are given the flexibility to make the decisions that are right for each and every hospital,” he said.
Walmart has pledged up to $100,000.
