Calgary Flames announce 2016-17 home opener

The Battle of Alberta will mark the first game at the Saddledome for the upcoming NHL season.
The Calgary Flames will face the Edmonton Oilers on Friday, October 14 in their home opener.
The Flames will also take part in two other Canadian NHL teams’ home openers. Calgary will be in Edmonton on October 12 for the first regular season game at the new Rogers Place. They will travel west to Vancouver on October 15 for the Canucks’ opener.
The NHL is slated to release the full 2016-17 regular season schedule on Tuesday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m., Calgary time.
