Calgary mom among those cycling for Camp Kindle

A Calgary mom whose son was diagnosed with cancer when he was three will be among those cycling Friday, to raise funds for Camp Kindle.

The camp, along with Kids Cancer Care, provides support and outreach programs for children both fighting and recovering from the illness.

Karla Gould will be in the ride for the third time.

Her son Liam, who is now 9, is in remission.

“I ride for the kids, I ride for Liam, and I ride for all the families that have to ever hear the words: ‘your child has cancer’. Kids Cancer Care has just been so special for our family. They provided us so much support through the years,” she said.

The three day cycling tour for kids starts in Bearspaw Friday morning, with participants pedalling more than 300 kilometres.
