RCMP and Parks Canada are conducting a search for a missing man in Yoho National Park near the Alberta-B.C. border.
John Deon, 54, from Golden was last seen scrambling down the west side of Mount Carnavon.
“The lost scrambler was with friends with Calgary when they got separated while trying to summit the mountain,” says Parks Canada Spokesperson Tania Peters. “And after trying to communicate with eachother, the one scrambler did go up to summit (and) came back down, and they got separated as this person that is missing kind of went off route.”
He was due back Friday evening but did not return, and a search for him began on Sunday.
