Calgary is receiving a special visitor Friday.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon is in town to help celebrate International Youth Day.
He’ll be meeting with leaders from the Alberta government and First Nations before making an address at the University of Calgary.
“His talk is really going to be about calling to action the youth, certainly at the University of Calgary, but (also) around the world to take their place as leaders and really to celebrate youth leadership,” said Dru Marshall, Provost and VP of Academia at the University.
It’s the first time Ban Ki-Moon has visited the province since he took office at the beginning of 2007.
