It’s back to the beginning for contractors building a home in the northwest community of Pleasant Heights.
Fire ripped through the back-fill lot project on 30 Avenue near 4 Street just after 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Battalion Chief John Cherweniuk said at first glance, the blaze doesn’t appear suspicious.
“The house was so severely damaged though, that we’re unable to do an interior search of it at this time, just because there are structural components that are failing. It’s not safe for our firefighters to be inside,” he said.
There were no reported injuries, and no other homes were damaged.
ENMAX was on scene briefly, as the flames charred a nearby power pole, but not enough to bring the lines down.
The home is a total loss.
