SW Ring Road construction to begin soon

Mountain View Partners has won the highly coveted contract for the southwest Ring Road project.
MVP will design, build and finance 40 per cent of the capital construction cost of the massive project, a contract worth $1.42 billion.
Infrastructure Minister Brian Mason says it’s a good step.
“We’re ready to hit the ground running on this project and I think it is going to be a key piece of the infrastructure that our government is providing for Calgary and for the region,” he said.
In July, the Government of Canada fulfilled its promise of $583 million for the southwest portion.
The project will be built between Highway 8 and Macleod Trail S.E. with construction beginning this fall.
It will include 31 kilometres of six and eight lane divided highway, 14 interchanges, a flyover, 49 bridges and more.
The southwest portion is expected to be complete by 2021.
