Calgary man arrested after dangerous theft of a vehicle in Smoky Lake

A Calgary man is facing several charges after a homeowner returned to his property near Waskatenau to find his vehicle being stolen.

It all happened Thursday evening where the resident noticed the pair and tried to block them in and prevent them from leaving.

The homeowner’s vehicle was damaged in the process; the victim was thankfully unhurt as a result of the crash.

RCMP were called immediately and flooded the area, eventually finding the duo on Highway 28.

It was parked near another vehicle and a man and a woman fled on foot after being spotted by police.

They were arrested a short time later.

Conrad Tyler Quewezance, 31, from Calgary is facing several charges including two counts of theft of a vehicle, theft of a trailer, assault with a weapon, resist arrest, failure to comply with recognizance, theft under $5,000 and driving while unauthorized.

A woman from Frog Lake is also facing charges.

Both are still in custody and will appear in Fort Saskatchewan court on September 29th, 2016.
