The Edmonton Police have charged a transit driver following the death of an 83 year old woman who was hit by a bus.
It happened in near West Edmonton Mall earlier this month.
According to reports, the bus was travelling northbound on 169 Street when it made a left turn onto 87 Avenue.
It struck the woman as she was crossing 87 Avenue in a marked crosswalk.
She was treated and rushed to hospital with serious injuries but later died.
Speed and alcohol were ruled out as factors in the crash.
Investigators have since charged 42 year old Kellie Rowe with one count of failing to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.
