The medical examiner’s office says the sister of a Calgary MLA was murdered.
The remains of Victoria Levesque, 25, were found in a rural area near Strathmore on Saturday.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation and encourages anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Police have not announced any suspects or any arrests.
Calgary Bow MLA Deborah Drever released a statement earlier this week, saying she will be taking some time with family to grieve.
Levesque was found dead just three days before she was scheduled to appear in court to face a number of criminal charges, including assault with a weapon.
