It’s no easy job getting half-a-million Calgarians around the city.
But it’s the daily job of Calgary Transit drivers, who are being appreciated Friday on ‘Thank Your Driver Day.’
Mike Trigiani started driving buses after retiring from a 30 year career.
He hears ‘thanks’ in everyday situations, like when a rider ran to catch the bus.
“And he said, ‘thank you so much for waiting for me.’ He said, ‘you’re the best thing that’s happened this morning.’ I said, ‘really?’,” Trigiani recalled.
“He said, ‘ I got up, and my car had a flat tire. I got an important meeting this morning. I gotta be there’.”
Trigiani said the tough part of his job is the early mornings, but he loves working with customers, dispatch and all the Calgary Transit equipment.
