Prairie provinces see population growth

All three Prairie provinces had population growth above the national average in the last three months of 2016.

Statistics Canada says the populations of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba all grew by 0.3 per cent in the final quarter of last year according the latest estimates.

That compares with national growth of 0.2 per cent.

The federal agency says Alberta remains the most populous province with just over 4.28-million people, followed by Manitoba at just under 1.33-million and Saskatchewan, with nearly 1.16-million.
