Fire crews respond to garage fire in the S.E.
Earlier today, crews responded to a fire along the 7000 block of 23rd Street S.E.
District Fire Chief Wayne McQueen says they were called just after the lunch hour.
When crews arrived, the garage of the home was on fire, and quickly spread to the home.

“We did a quick search. Smoke alarms were going, so that’s a good sign, but there was nobody in the house at the time,” said McQueen.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
