Cougar sighting in Fish Creek Park

If mom wants to spend the day in Fish Creek Park make sure to bring the bear spray.

Alberta Parks is out with a warning to the public about a cougar spotted near the Bebo Grove Day Use area on Saturday.

Some tips on how to avoid an encounter include bringing a noise maker, walking stick and always travel in a group.

If you run into one, experts say do not run, keep an eye on it and back away slowly.

Cougars can also be attracted to dogs so make sure to keep it close and on a leash at all times.
