The Ferris wheel is spinning and dozens of other attractions and rides are already in motion at the Calgary Stampede.
North American Midway Entertainment says it’s almost ready for early bird visitors who will get to the grounds Thursday night for the sneak-a-peek event.
Vice President of Fun, Scooter Corek, tells 660 NEWS how preparations are going.
“We’re about 90 per cent complete. You know, we’re just putting the final touches on it now and getting some ride inspections done, and finishing that process. And, you know, spit and shine! Getting ready for opening on Thursday evening.”
Corek says the weather has been cooperating during set up and he’s excited for what could be 10 days of sunshine for the Stampede.
“The set-up has been going extremely well. We closed a week ago on Sunday at the Red River Exhibition in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the weather has just been cooperating with us like crazy, it’s been so nice setting up here.”
The gates open at 5 p.m. on Thursday for the Sneak-a-peek event.
