The weather should continue to help firefighters battle the Kenow wildfire in Southern Alberta Friday.
Environment Canada is calling for a high of just eight degrees Celsius in Waterton National Park, with a good chance of rain.
Many mandatory evacuations have been lifted, though the park itself is still under notice.
Residents of Cardston County, much of the M.D. of Pincher Creek, and the Blood Reserve were allowed to return home Thursday, though a state of emergency remains in place for all those areas.
The fire is still 36,000 hectares in size, but it’s expected not to grow much further thanks to the cool, damp conditions.
