Elderly couple killed in eastern Alberta crash

An elderly couple from Saskatchewan has died in a crash on a rural highway in eastern Alberta.
RCMP closed the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 570 near Oyen after the collision around 9:30 Wednesday morning.
Their initial investigation suggests a car had stopped at the corner, but then pulled out and was hit by an oncoming F-350.
The 80-year-old woman behind the wheel of the car and the 81-year-old man who was in the passenger seat both died on scene.
The pickup driver, a 40-year-old man, has minor injuries.
