The remaining residents at Midfield trailer park have been told they have until February, 19th to leave.
Residents had launched a class action lawsuit in an attempt to stay at the site, along 16th Avenue N.E.
On Friday, a judge ruled against them, and upheld an eviction order from the City of Calgary.
Resident Laine Sloan is disappointed.
“We have a mortgage on the house,” Sloan said. “We live in Calgary and we’re not going to be able to sell the house. We tried for three years, we tried for three years to find a place. We’re not going to find a place by February as hard as we try.”
Lawyer Mathew Farell, who represents the residents, didn’t rule out an appeal.
“Whether or not we’ll be able to afford to do that at this point, I’m not sure,” Farell said.
In handing down her decision, the Justice Colleen Kenny told residents she sympathized with the, but did not find any legal wrong doing by the City.
